Developing ceramic materials that support people's lives and a sustainable society

We focus on the unique reaction fields that arise at the surfaces and interfaces of powders and ceramics, and develop materials with new functions by devising new ways of making them. Using microwave and mechanochemical reactions to locally control reactions inside and on the surface of materials, we aim for energy-saving manufacturing with a low environmental impact.

The functional ceramics we develop are applied to catalysts and photocatalysts for environmental purification, energy conversion materials, conductive materials, next-generation construction materials, and more. Our goal is to create materials that support a sustainable society while making effective use of resources and energy.
